Why should I study in China?

China offers an incredible number of scholarships, which allows you to get higher education for free or at a very low cost.

When you graduate from a Chinese university, you obtain an international diploma that is recognized worldwide.

Many Chinese universities rank among the best ones in Asia, and even worldwide, like Tsinghua University, Peking University or Shanghai Jiaotong University and many more. Choose China for the excellence of its education!

China offers bachelors, masters and doctorates in Chinese or English. You don’t speak Chinese? You can still choose to study in China in English!

China is the first economic partner of Kazakhstan, as well as its neighbour. Knowing the Chinese language and culture gives you a huge advantage while looking for a job.

I don’t know Chinese, can I still study in China?

Of course! You have many options.

You can either:

  • Take an intensive course or an HSK preparation course at our language centre (offline or online)
  • Enroll in a one-year language program in China (there are also language program scholarships) before choosing your major and starting your bachelor or master’s degree.
  • Study in English: Chinese universities offer hundreds of bachelors, masters and doctorates integrally in English.
  • Choose a 1+3 program: the study of the Chinese language and the major you chose are combined so you get your bachelor’s diploma in only 4 years.
What can I study in China?

You have many options:

  • a short term language program (a few weeks to a few months)ur language centre (offline or online)
  • a long term language program (one semester or one year)
  • a bachelor degree in Chinese or English
  • a master’s degree in Chinese or English
  • a doctorate in Chinese or English.
What do scholarships cover?

They are plenty of scholarships! The best ones offer to cover tuition fees, accommodation, medical insurance and even give you a monthly stipend up to CNY3500 per month (around USD540).

Some others offer tuitions fees + accommodation and medical insurance, or only tuition fees, and some other part of the tuition fees.

The type of scholarship depends on the chosen university, major, and of course on your profile, your language level, certificates etc.

The better your school transcript the higher the chances to get a full scholarship with a monthly stipend.

How to choose my future university?

You can look at the ranking of various universities for the major you choose. The best universities are not necessarily in Beijing or Shanghai.

If the financial aspect is the most important for you, then you can choose a smaller city, where the cost of living is lower.

Some universities located in smaller cities offer very attractive scholarships. If you want to improve your Chinese quickly, choosing a city where there are fewer foreigners, so you are less tempted to use your mother tongue.

In any case, China is very diverse and every city has its advantages: China is much more than just Beijing or Shanghai!

Just take the example of our teachers: we all studied in Hangzhou, Wuhan, Jinan, Xi’an… but none of us chose Beijing or Shanghai!

China in key numbers
  • Over 160 cities of over 1 million people
  • Over 2500 universities and higher vocational colleges
  • 20 000 scholarships per year for international students
  • 279 Chinese universities approved by the Chinese Ministry of Education to process Chinese Government Scholarships (CGS)
  • 6 Chinese universities are in the TOP 100 of the best universities in the world
Mandarinka Team’s friendly tip:

While you are exploring this page, remember the best options are not always Beijing and Shanghai, as China is full of surprises and wonders! Some smaller or lesser-known cities offer very attractive scholarships and will allow you to get a better immersion experience and progress much faster in Chinese!

Please also kindly take into account that these are only a few examples of the available programs and scholarships, there are many, many more! Just contact us to get tailored advice!

Students’ reviews

I was in my last year of high school this year, and I wanted to study abroad for free. As I don’t know Chinese, I first decide to study the language for a year. The managers of Mandarinka helped me a lot through the process, explained me where to get the medical test, where to translate my documents etc. They also corrected my study plan and wrote a recommendation letter for me. Thanks to them, I have received a positive answer to my application: not only will I study for free, I also don’t need to pay for accommodation, and the university will me a monthly stipend of 1500 yuans! Thank you Mandarinka!

Dinara

I wanted to study in China but I didn’t in which city, which university nor which major. Mandarinka’s team was very helpful. The application process wasn’t complicated at all, they were very responsive and kept me updated all the time. I got a scholarship for 4 years, the whole length of my bachelor’s degree.

Michael

After finishing my bachelor’s degree I wanted to apply for a master’s degree. I don’t know Chinese but the director of Mandarinka Education helped me find a program in English. I didn’t have IELTS but she found a solution for me to quicky pass an English test and get a certificate. I will start my master’s in Chengdu city in September, I’m really looking forward to it!
